I'm a happyfaced-go-lucky kinda girl & cooking for people, practicing yoga, & animals of all kinds make my heart sing the most! I've got a lot of energy (enough for everyone!) & I love sharing gluten-free recipes on my blog, happyveganface.

Scrumptious
I figured out that I'm gluten-intolerant in 2008, around the same time I switched from vegetarian to vegan. I have a chronic illness and I was initially worried I wouldn't have the energy to manage both dietary changes. Well, to all the people (including myself at one time) who ask, "Vegan *and* gluten-free? What can you eat??" my answer is a blog, In My Box, full of the most creative, utterly delicious food I've ever cooked. My main theme is my weekly CSA box and what I cook from it, and lately I've been focusing on budget eating and menu planning as well.

Mandee
I first went gluten free in 2003, then I had a year where I went back to eating it before returning to gf life. In 2006 I went vegan, and it is one of the best decisions I've ever made. Later I had my allergies tested and gluten and soy were the two main culprits but don't worry, vegan, gluten free and soy free food is still delicious! I love baking, cooking and reading and often wish I could combine these activities without disastrous results. If I'm not in the kitchen, I'll be photographing food or hanging out with my two cats. My blog is Cupcake Kitteh.

K & Toby
We are a vegan couple in Melbourne who met at a vegan society brunch in Hong Kong. K went vegan approximately 9 years ago and Toby about 8 years ago. K has a sweet tooth and after a year of testing including 2 biopsies (the first one was negative) was finally diagnosed with coeliac's disease in December 2010. K still struggles with missing gluteny items like good bread but is slowly adapting to her new diet and looking forward to improved health as a result. Toby is originally from HK, quite active and obsessed with high protein food and coffee. Our blog In the Mood for Noodles is gluten free from Feb 2011 onwards, we blog about recipes we have tried, restaurant reviews and occasionally post pictures of our cat.

Geanna Green Vegan Living
Ahhh, gluten. Something I thought I would never have to give up. I used to spend days eating nothing but vegan pizza, cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies. It all changed in the fall of 2009, when I discovered that I had a serious illness. As a result of the illness, my body's ability to digest gluten was completely destroyed, and I started feeling miserable every time I had even a sip of beer. I began my trek into the unknown world of gluten-free and vegan cooking and baking, and, with MANY struggles along the way, have finally reached a place where I feel somewhat comfortable about being in the kitchen again.

Windy City Vegan
I have been veg*n since the age of 15, mostly vegan except when a slice of Chicago style pizza would cross my path. I finally dropped the * for an 'a' when my daughter was born and have been passionately teaching her about vegan, whole foods ever since. My husband and I have three autoimmune disorders between us, all of which are exacerbated by gluten. Beginning in 2011, all recipes on my site Chew on This! will be gluten free as our family embraces a gluten free lifestyle.

Tara
I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2003. That's when I started to educate myself and question everything that I was eating. The following year I stopped eating animals (I love them...why am I eating them?) Opened my mind and my eyes and finally went Vegan in 2007. It's been a great journey, and I learn more about nutrition every day. I try to eat more RAW foods, and you can watch some of my "cooking" videos on my YouTube channel, MissLiz13.

Bitt
I was diagnosed with celiac in 1997. I decided to become vegan a few years later. Recently I've been eating a lot more raw foods, although not exclusively. I love raw foods because the majority are already gluten-free and vegan. I eat whole foods and don't use too much processed food for health reasons. I like green food and sprouts, but also fancy raw desserts. I am firmly committed to ethical veganism, and I am very passionate about animals and animal issues. Come check out my blog, Bitt of Raw.

Rachel
I really enjoyed eating meat until I read Eating Animals by Jonathan Safron Foer. Then I became vegan because I couldn't think of any good excuse not to. I'm gluten-free because it gives me more energy. Being VGF helps me feel good about my body in a society that tells women we should hate our bodies. I also really love to cook. I have a video blog where I cook and sing pop songs. It's called Vegan Gluten Free Karaoke.

Cami The Discerning Kitchen
In 2004, I found out about a long list of allergies (corn, soy, gluten, eggs, dairy, tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries, and the list goes on). In 2007, I found out I had lupus. In 2008, I found out that a plant based diet was possible without gluten, soy, and corn after picking up a book my sister-in-law gave to me by Ani Phyo. Since then, I've adopted a vegan lifestyle. The food helps me keep my lupus more under control, and the lifestyle is good for my soul. My small nephew has severe allergies as well, so I love making kid friendly baked goods (vegan and gluten/corn/soy free). Raw veganism taught me that pursuing this way of life was possible, but I still choose to include a lot of cooked foods in my diet. My mission is to show people they don't need to sacrifice their health or their taste buds. I still love my food!

Ashley T. Vegan Kitchen Nuggets
In 2008 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (Sjögren’s Syndrome) and since then have attempted to reduce inflammation by cutting processed foods out of my diet. I’ve been a vegetarian for 15 years, and this past year I’ve given dairy and gluten the boot. Since beginning this journey, I’ve discovered the tasty joys and the not-so-tasty frustrations of gluten-free, vegan cooking. It’s getting easier with each day and hopefully my blog will reflect my progress as my collection of gluten-free flours grows exponentially.

Caitlin M.
I'm a vegan who is gluten-intolerant. My husband has recently adopted this lifestyle, as well, after we did an elimination diet and realized that he is intolerant to dairy and gluten. What makes things difficult is the fact that my husband and I have very different tastes in food, and I often end up making two different dinners every night. The Vegan Chickpea documents the food I make for myself, as well as my husband, and the trials and tribulations that go along with trying to feed a picky eater who misses gluten and dairy on a daily basis.

Marlie C.
As a living foods chef and health writer, I am interested in the creative potentials of plant-based cuisine and a 'living foods' lifestyle. I am passionate about sharing fun, delicious raw-gf-vegan recipes with others and also teach cooking classes and demonstrations. In my youth, I was diagnosed with food sensitivities and allergies (particularly to dairy, soy, corn, wheat and gluten), which I only took notice of during my later teen years. I have been gluten-free for a few years now, and my health has significantly improved. Coupled with following a high raw vegan diet, I feel a gluten-free lifestyle works best for me. Please feel free to visit my blog, barefoot and frolicking for delicious gf recipes, food photography, restaurant reviews, discussions about health and nutrition and information about my custom order raw-gf-vegan chocolate and desserts.

Ricki Heller
After being diagnosed with CRC (Candida-related Complex) for the second time in 2009, I knew this diet would have to become a permanent lifestyle for me. I now follow a sugar-free, gluten-free, mold-free and lots of other "free" diet, and at present have regained 95% of my health. My recipes are made with whole foods ingredients but they definitely don't feel like deprivation. Come over to Diet, Dessert and Dogs for some great food and stories. . . and the occasional comments from my dogs.

Camille Gluten Free, Soy Free, Vegan
After becoming vegan in the Spring of 2008 I discovered my passion for cooking. Not feeling comfortable making up my own recipes, I spend endless hours scouring blogs and cookbooks with the single minded goal of eating something new and interesting every day. With my combination of food allergies, in addition to being vegan, meeting this goal takes up quite a bit of time. That's why I decided to collate this data and create a website full of exclusively gluten-free, soy-free, vegan recipes to share with the world! While I am currently living in Senegal serving in the Peace Corps, I look forward to jumping back into blogging full time when I return to the United States. In the meantime, I can only scroll through all of your blogs and drool.

Sarahfaé
My name is Sarahfaé & I'm Addicted To Veggies. Something that matters a LOT to me: Living my life in the healthiest and happiest way possible. How do I make this happen? For me, it starts with eating right for my body and my own special dietary needs. My journey began with the discovery that I’m lactose and gluten intolerant. No fun, right? But much to my surprise, I discovered an exciting and very versatile new world of food by switching to a plant based diet! This way of eating has become a vital part of my mental and physical health. I want nothing more than to share my love and excitement for the food I eat with anyone who is curious. I promise never to be dogmatic about my recipes or choices, but to provide ideas, recipe inspiration, and encouragement to simply: Eat more Fruits & Veggies! And do it in a creative and tasty way!

Mary
I gave up gluten in 2009, when I found out my migraines were caused by Celiac disease. As I've struggled to learn how to cook all over again, I've found support and camaraderie in the xgfx community. I love being vegan, I love feeling healthy, and I'm learning to love being gluten-free. I live in Maine, where I'm a mom to two dogs and a baby who keep me busy and help me clean spilled food off the floor. I share recipes, reviews, and knitting at MittenMachen.

Alicia
I was vegetarian from July 2009 to about October 2010, when I went vegan. I have fibromyalgia and after eliminating gluten and dairy from my diet to test out how my pain levels would react, well let's just say there is no going back. Honestly this is the best choice I have ever made. I love cooking and I find cooking gluten free and vegan calls for some creativity at times. I figure if I'm passionate about my cooking healthy food, I am passionate about my health. My blog, Beyond Willpower is dedicated to my weight loss journey in an effort to lose 50% of my weight and go from 299 lbs to 149 lbs while living vegan and gluten free. I'm also slowly but steadily building on my recipes.

Christine Christine Eats Gluten-Free and Vegan
I've been vegan for about twenty years now, and was vegetarian for several years before that. I have an intolerance to wheat, so tend to cook gluten free. I took early retirement three years ago, and enrolled on a BA degree. I graduated in July with first class honours in Creative Writing and English Literature, and am about to embark on my PhD this autumn.

Lisa I have been a joyful vegan for over 20 years. The realization that I can't digest animal protein was the impetus for my dietary shift but a full embrace of the ethical values of veganism soon followed. Over the years, I have discovered that a diet focused on whole foods helps to fuel my active lifestyle and makes me feel fantastic. I love creating amazing meals, reading cookbooks, testing recipes, and hosting demos and events in Toronto, Canada. I became a certified raw chef (through the 105degrees Academy) in 2011 and can't wait to share more incredible raw, vegan, gluten-free recipes with the world via vegan culinary crusade.

VEGirl
It was only a matter of time before my lifelong love of animals culminated in my turn to veganism at age 11. Previously, on my ninth birthday, I became gluten-free (great present, eh?). After that, the spark was lit for other passions: my loves of nutrition, cooking, baking, biking, and photography. My rat friends are my inspiration and they support me every day towards my goal of running a rat rescue and education center. At the ripe old age of fifteen, I run my blog to provide inspiration and ideas for like-minded folks. Since adopting a gluten free vegan diet, I feel amazing. The constant dizziness, anxiety, fatigue and fogginess that have surrounded my day are completely gone. I truly believe that most of the diseases that effect our society today can be halted, reversed or even cured by adopting a plant based diet. My goal is to pursue holistic nutrition and share this knowledge with people who desperately need it. You’ll find a lot about backyard gardening, trips to farmers markets and encouragement to eat as local as possible on my blog, Gluten Free and Vegan. All in all, I love living as simply as possible and eating healthy sustainable foods. I sometimes break away from talking about food and showcase my art and recycled/re-purposed products from my Etsy Shop. Even though I'm in the city that never sleeps, I'm a vegan, soy-free, peanut-free, celiac with major sensitivities. Unfortunately eating out is never really an option for me (even with 18,696!!! restaurants in the city.) Fortunately, that has only helped me become a better cook and baker at home. But this newfound adoration differed from my youth--I now fell head over heels for kale, quinoa, flax seeds, and other nourishing foods that were compassionate to my body, my mind, my spirit, animals, and the environment. My switch to gluten-freedom in September 2011 also stemmed from treating my body in a caring manner after noticing increasingly painful stomach discomfort following meals featuring gluten. At Farmers Market Vegan I chronicle my passions of healthy living and locally grown, sustainable, organic foods.

Michelle Lippe
I became vegan in 2011 to cheat death and defy the doctors who were out of options in treating my myriad of health problems including Lupus and a new cancer diagnosis.
